Enhanced Monitoring of Pinkerton Flooding
Extensive flooding is occurring in Pinkerton due to a breach of a privately owned dyke. The Municipality of Brockton is continuing to coordinate with external agencies, including the County of Bruce, Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, Ministry of Natural Resources and has initiated discussions with Brockton’s Emergency Operations Control Group. The Municipality in coordination with these external agencies are providing enhanced monitoring of the affected properties in Pinkerton. Emergency Response crews conducted sandbagging efforts over the weekend to minimize further damage to certain properties in Pinkerton. At this time, it is not expected that flooding in Pinkerton will impact surrounding hamlets or communities.
Residents are strongly advised to avoid the area and refrain from accessing closed roads as roadways may be compromised.
Please continue to monitor the Municipality’s website www.Brockton.ca and social media accounts to stay informed.
